I've been toying around with the idea to start a blog for some time, I had a strong drive to start a blog after the unexpected passing of my Dressage Trainer, Mark Russell, last summer. I didn't feel emotionally ready for it then but it has been on my mind quite a bit lately, so I decided it it time to just jump in and give it a go! My plan is to chronicle my journey of how I trained my Dragon and that will entail having to go back two years to when he first entered my life. I know there will be some posts about my own journey as a rider and trainer to get to where I am now. Hopefully it will be an educational and entertaining blog, but I AM NOT A WRITER! I actually almost got kicked out of AP English in high school because I was too busy riding horses all summer to get around to the required reading...Sorry Dr Alves...but priorities are priorities! At least I read "A Thousand Acres" since it was written by the same author as "Horse Heaven".
If you are here you already know that I manage a 16 stall barn, and that is more than a full time job. I will try my best to post fairly regularly, but no promises! I hope that I have thought provoking topics to blog about and that you can enjoy the journey of training my Dragon as much as I am.
